Muktsar’s own Munna Bhai MBBS
Dr Sumeet Jarangal, a 2009-batch IAS office, who was promoted Deputy Commissioner, Muktsar, last month, is viewed as “Munna Bhai MBBS” by the locals. If Sanjay Dutt in the Bollywood blockbuster had his “jadoo Ki jhappi” (magical hug) to help people, the young officer, an MBBS, has almost a similar approach to solving people’s problems. Nobody needs to send in a slip inside or seek appointment to meet him. Cordial and kind, he offers tea to all. He has developed a software to keep a record of all complaints. This has endeared him to the residents who address him as “puttar” and “veer.”
